The human body is hard at work while we go about our daily lives – We may not notice or feel anything special, but every second, day and night, our bodies are using power and healing!
Here are 6 awesome facts about the human body!
1. You use 100% of your brain
The myth that humans use only 10 percent of their brains has been repeated so often, but studies suggest that during any given day, fully 100 percent of the brain’s area is active! Your brain generates as much energy as a small light bulb even when you’re sleeping.
2. Your body rebuilds itself in less than 1 year!
Approximately 50,000 cells in your body will die and be replaced with new cells during the time it takes you to read this sentence. 98% of your body is rebuilt in less than a year – It takes your skin 1 month, the liver needs about 6 weeks and your stomach lining in just 5 days! Your body can rebuild a whole skeleton in 3 months, and your brain rebuilds in 1 year!
3. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 250 miles per hour
The speed of nerve impulses varies enormously but the fastest travel at about 250 mph! For example, if you burn your fingers it is important that your brain gets the message to withdraw your hand very quickly.
4. There are more cells in your body than stars in the galaxy
Your entire body is made up of around 75 trillion cells. When you compare this to the 400 billion stars in our galaxy – you are made of 75,000,000,000,000 cells !
5. The cells in your body react to your thoughts
Your mind is a powerful machine and controls every function of the body. Our thoughts, feelings, emotions and wishes immediately transform into a molecule.
One way to project our thoughts and emotions to our reality is by visualizing them. Believing means creating. We are creators of our own reality. All we have in our lives is the product of what we have in our minds. If you don’t believe it, try to change your thought patterns and see what happens…
6. You are made of stardust
Almost every material and resource we know of was created from elements born in stars, including those found in living creatures – which means you
The carbon, nitrogen and oxygen atoms in our bodies, as well as atoms of all other heavy elements, were created in previous generations of stars over 4.5 billion years ago!
